Liverpool boss Arne Slot shared a light-hearted moment with presenter Mark Chapman ahead of the Carabao Cup final.

Slot was speaking with Sky Sports before the game and cheekily barged into Chapman to illustrate a point he was making about Newcastle's physical approach. When asked by Jamie Carragher what he expected from Newcastle in the final, Slot replied: "They will go all in from the star, like they were at St. James' Park.

"Being on top of us, letting us know that they are there. At Anfield they were waiting a bit more and at St. James' Park they were constantly [barges Chapman] like this and that's what you can expect in a final."

Chapman laughed in response to Slot's actions, quipping: "I don't think I've ever been shoulder barged by a manager during an interview before."

They quickly moved on with the interview and Slot was asked how he was feeling ahead of his first final in charge of the Reds. "Not so different than other games," the Dutchman replied. "If you work for Liverpool and you play for every trophy then every game is important.

"I know it's a final and it is special to be in this stadium. Looking forward to it, but the nine games that are coming [in the Premier League] are just as important as the one today."

Slot reiterated that message in an interview with club media, insisting: "I think our nine games in the league are going to be finals as well so if we had to play for the league on Sunday I think we would have been up for it also.

"But yeah, it's always nice to play for a trophy, it's always nice to win something. Although it is nine finals in thePremier Leaguethe upcoming [next league] game will not be the one where we can win something, so now this is the last game of the tournament and it's against Newcastle.

"So, it's going to be an interesting occasion and something to look forward to. We've tried to win every competition we were in. Unfortunately we were already out of the FA Cup and unfortunately after Tuesday we are out of the Champions League as well so there are now only two trophies for us to win.

"I think in general the Premier League is the hardest one to win of all of them because it's 38 games and you have to do so many things well. Cups – and even the Champions League, although those are played over two rounds [legs] – are 'easier' to win, but still very difficult! But now it's nice that we are in the final and having a chance to win our first trophy."
