Mykhailo Mudryk spotted at Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury 2 after drugs test controversy
by James Quinlan · football.londonDays after being suspended for failing a drugs test, Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has been seen sitting ringside at Tyson Fury's rematch with fellow Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
Approaching two years since he signed for Chelsea, Mudryk was left in 'complete shock' by the results of a routine urine test for banned substances. A negative result means the 23-year-old has been provisionally suspended by the Football Association (FA) with a full investigation to commence.
Both the club's statement and player's statement stated adamancy any possible wrongdoing has been done unknowingly, with promise to cooperate in the process that will produce a definitive verdict.
It was also said no further comment will be made as Mudryk faces a lengthy ban if a guilty ruling passes. Not featuring for the Blues since November 28's Europa Conference League win vs Heidenheim, he has now missed six matches.
And with that absence set to continue for the foreseeable the attacker seems to be spacing himself from Stamford Bridge.
This would be evidenced by the fact talkSPORT have produced the first images of him sitting ringside in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday night ahead of Fury vs Usyk 2.
Ukrainian boxing heavyweight champion of the world Usyk is going up against Manchester's Fury for the second time this calendar year. Their first fight in May, won by the former, unified all heavyweight title belts for the first time in 24 years.
It would not be outlandish to presume Mudryk is there supporting his countryman in his attempt to retain his world champion status.
The fight is not expected to get underway until at least 11pm tonight - so at least 2am local time in the Gulf state - when the Blues are next in action at 2pm on Sunday afternoon against Everton.
