Here we take a look at what could be Ange Postecoglou's strongest Tottenham team for Saturday's Premier League clash at Man City

Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham team will be looking to right the wrongs of their defeat to Ipswich Town when they return to Premier League action on Saturday. In a game where they need to get back to winning ways, Spurs have a showdown against the reigning champions on the agenda as they travel to Manchester City.

The sides have played out some classic contests at the Etihad Stadium in recent seasons, including last December when Dejan Kulusevski's stoppage-time goal saw an injury-hit Spurs team leave with a point following a 3-3 draw. Saturday's game in Manchester could very much follow suit with the goals expected to flow.

As important as it is that Spurs get points on the board as they look to close in on the top three, City also go into the match in desperate need of victory after losing their last four games in all competitions. Guardiola's team are currently five points behind league leaders Liverpool after 11 games and they cannot afford for that gap to increase even more.

In regards to Spurs, Postecoglou needs to find a way of his team getting some real consistency in the league after such a mixed start to the term so far. After hitting Aston Villa for four at the start of the month, Spurs then lost 2-1 against Ipswich in their last game prior to the international break.

A number of Spurs players have enjoyed good international breaks and the hope will be that they can take their performances into the Man City game. So how exactly could the Lilywhites line up at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening? football.london takes a look below.

Goalkeeper - Guglielmo Vicario

Guglielmo Vicario will start in goal for Tottenham against Man City.

Right-back - Pedro Porro

Pedro Porro is an automatic pick at right-back for Tottenham.

Centre-back - Cristian Romero

Cristian Romero came off at half-time in Argentina's game against Paraguay during the international break and was subsequently unavailable for their following game against Peru. Reports in his homeland indicated that he had a pain in the same foot that he recently injured against Aston Villa.
Tottenham will be keeping everything crossed that the World Cup winner is in a position to feature against Man City, with Ange Postecoglou stating that his man is "definitely" a doubt for Saturday evening's match. Left-wing - Son Heung-min

Son Heung-min also enjoyed a good international break after scoring in games against Palestine and Kuwait. Hopefully his form carries over into Tottenham's Premier League games as the team really could do with a lift after a few poor results of late.
