Chelsea next five fixtures compared to Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal after Leicester win

by · football.london

Chelsea are keeping tabs on the Premier League pace-setters following their 2-1 win over Leicester City.

Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez settled the scores for Chelsea at the King Power Stadium. Jackson's superb finish 15 minutes in set the Blues on their way before a late second made it a winning return to the Midlands for promotion-winning former Leicester manager Enzo Maresca - who left the Foxes to replace Mauricio Pochettino following his departure from Stamford Bridge this summer.

Leicester scored a late consolation through Jordan Ayew (pen). But that was too little, too late.

That result means Chelsea have picked up 22 points from 12 matches so far this season. They are six points behind table-topping Liverpool - who meet rock-bottom Southampton at St. Mary's on Sunday afternoon (4pm).

Champions Manchester City and fourth-placed Arsenal are in action later on this afternoon. Here, football.london takes a closer look at what the upcoming fixture list has in store for those four teams;

Chelsea next five fixtures (all competitions)

November 28 vs Heidenheim (A) at 5.45pm - Conference League

December 1 vs Aston Villa (H) at 1.30pm - Premier League

December 4 vs Southampton (A) at 7.30pm - Premier League

December 8 vs Tottenham (A) at 4.30pm - Premier League

December 12 vs Astana (A) at 3.30pm - Conference League

The verdict: Games are coming thick and fast for every Premier League side following November's international break and the distraction (fallout) that caused. Chelsea have five winnable games - on paper - to follow up in two competitions even though Aston Villa and Tottenham may have something to say about that. Even though those two represent clear challenges, the Blues ought to be in confident mood given how they have started this season. Maresca has enough scope to change things around in Europe, too, as he has done so far, while a mouth-watering and upcoming showdown between Liverpool and Manchester City means something will have to give there.

Liverpool next five fixtures (all competitions)

November 24 vs Southampton (A) at 2pm - Premier League
