Carlo Ancelotti fires Real Madrid warning in Arsenal reminder - 'We've done it many times'

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has fired a fresh warning to Arsenal ahead of their Champions League second-leg at the Bernabeu next week.

The Gunners take a three-goal lead to the Spanish capital following their rip-roaring display in North London this week after Declan Rice starred for Mikel Arteta's side in their 3-0 win.

Mikel Merino added gloss to the result with an expert finish from the edge of the box, but it was the Englishman who stole the show with two phenomenal free-kicks.

However, the record Champions League holders are still within a fighting chance, despite a seemingly unassailable deficit which they need to overturn at home next week.

Ancelotti, who has come under pressure in light of the defeat with his contract situation unclear, has reiterated the belief that if one club could pull off the unthinkable, it would be Los Blancos.

"I want to see a Real Madrid that's capable of recovering its sensations, that's positive," he said.

"Everyone's thinking about Wednesday's game, but Wednesday's game will undoubtedly depend on the performance we have to put in tomorrow's match.

"We're still in the fight for La Liga, and we need to play well and win.

"We'll try (to come back). Real Madrid is the only team that's had this happen to it so many times, but we'll try again.

"We know when our fans can help us at our stadium; we've done it many times, and we'll try again.

"We'll try until the last minute and until the last ball, starting tomorrow."

Madrid are looking to return to winning ways in the league after suffering late disappointment against Valencia last time out in the Spanish top-flight.

They travel to Deportivo Alaves (3.15pm kick-off) looking to reduce their deficit to league leaders Barcelona to four points.
