Tottenham's away trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League is set to be rescheduled after Ange Postecoglou's men progressed to the Europa League quarter-finals.

Spurs overcame a 1-0 deficit in north London to beat Dutch side AZ Alkmaar 3-2 on aggregate, pushing them into a quarter-final matchup against Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.

A brace from summer signing Wilson Odobert and a stunning counter-attack goal from James Maddison is what kept Spurs in the tournament. Lucas Bergvall almost brought Alkmaar back into the game following a mistake, leaving Peer Koppmeiners with a free ball in the box, but Tottenham pushed through.

The first-leg of the quarter-final will be played on Thursday, April 10, meaning Tottenham's 3pm Saturday kick-off two days later against Wolves will have to be pushed back. It will likely be moved to Sunday, April 13 with a kick-off time to be confirmed.

Spurs' history with Wolves is not a positive one. The last time the two Premier League sides met was in December. Wolves' Jorgen Strand Larsen scored an 87th minute equaliser to end the game 2-2.

Tottenham haven't beaten the Midlands outfit since 2022 when Harry Kane scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory. Since then, aside from this season's draw, Wolves have beaten Spurs in every game since 2022.

The second-leg of the quarter-finals will also be played on a Thursday, but Tottenham's following Premier League game isn't until Monday night when they will face Champions League qualification contenders Nottingham Forest.

Postecoglou will be happy his squad get a three day break after their trip to Germany, especially when the team waiting for their return is Forest. Nuno Espírito Santo's squad have taken everyone by surprise this season and are currently experiencing one of best seasons in decades.
