Mohammed Kudus handed new FA ban after Tottenham fracas as West Ham star misses Arsenal clash
by Kieran Horn · football.londonWest Ham star Mohammed Kudus will be absent until December after being handed a new punishment by the FA for an incident against Tottenham. The Ghana international was sent off in the 4-1 Premier League defeat after raising his hand at both Micky van de Ven and Pape Matar Sarr.
Having already missed games against Manchester United and Nottingham Forest, Kudus looked to be serving the final game of his suspension this weekend but that has now changed. A new FA statement has been released that states he will serve a new two-match suspension.
A statement read: "West Ham United and Mohammed Kudus have been sanctioned in relation to incidents during their Premier League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday 19 October.
"It was alleged that the club failed to ensure their players didn’t behave in an improper and/or provocative and/or violent way around the 82nd minute. West Ham United admitted to this charge, and an independent Regulatory Commission subsequently fined the club £30,000.
"It was also alleged that Mohammed Kudus acted in an improper manner and/or used violent conduct after the offence that he was sent off for. The forward admitted to this charge, and he has been given a two-match suspension and £60,000 fine by the Regulatory Commission."
The decision to extend his ban was made by the FA after treating the incident with Sarr as separate to his initial fracas with Van de Ven. As a result he will still be suspended for the Everton clash while also now missing games after the November international break against Newcastle and Arsenal.

In total the winger will miss five Premier League games with one of those likely a missed opportunity given the interest Arsenal still have in him. The former Ajax man was of interest to the Gunners, Brighton and Chelsea but opted to sign for West Ham back in the summer of 2023.
