Here's the Tottenham team we reckon Ange Postecoglou will select to face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg on Wednesday

Ange Postecoglou finally has a new face to call upon if he chooses to for Tottenham's Carabao Cup semi-final first leg clash with Liverpool on Wednesday.

Spurs made their first signing of the January transfer window with the arrival of 21-year-old goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague in a deal that could be worth around £12.5million with add-ons. Postecoglou must decide whether to throw the talented stopper straight in or give Brandon Austin another chance after the academy product did well against Newcastle with Fraser Forster out sick.

Postecoglou has got Rodrigo Bentancur back from suspension but loses both James Maddison and Pape Matar Sarr to that same reason. Lucas Bergvall impressed in the midfield against Newcastle and the Spurs boss must decide whether to give the 18-year-old Swede another go in the midfield.

Seventeen-year-old Mikey Moore could also be back on the bench for the first time in a couple of months after recovering from the virus that has wiped out a chunk of his season. This match has come too soon for Richarlison who faces another week of training before being considered for match duty.

Here's the Spurs team that we reckon Postecoglou will select to take on Arne Slot's side in the cup clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Right-back - Pedro Porro

Spurs need a creative but also defensively solid performance from the Spaniard.(Image: Getty Images)

Centre-back - Radu Dragusin

Left-back - Djed Spence

The 24-year-old has impressed on either flank and filled in at centre-back on Saturday.

Central midfield - Rodrigo Bentancur

Back from suspension and Postecoglou will need the Uruguayan's fresh legs and ability to keep the ball.(Image: (Image: Getty))

Central midfield - Yves Bissouma

Didn't start on Saturday so should bring further fresh legs with Bentancur to the centre of the park.(Image: Marc Atkins/Getty Images)

Central midfield - Lucas Bergvall

With Maddison suspended there's a great chance for Bergvall to get another opportunity to shine.

Right wing - Dejan Kulusevski

The Swede has also been ill but should be fine for this game and Tottenham need his creativity and strength.

Centre forward - Dominic Solanke

The England international is in good form and Postecoglou needs another big performance from him.

Left wing - Son Heung-min

Spurs have extended his contract by another year and this would be the perfect game to return to form after being left out of Saturday's starting line-up.(Image: Catherine Ivill - AMA/Getty Images)
