He joins Liam Delap, Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr as new summer signings, with Jamie Gittens likely to be confirmed as the fifth signing of the window later this week.

Speaking in his first interview with the club's official website, Joao Pedro admitted there was only one thing on his mind when joining the Blues - winning trophies.

"I grew up watching the Premier League, and Chelsea were a club that won trophies. So, when you join Chelsea, you can only think one thing: to win trophies.

"Every competition, you have to think, 'I play for Chelsea and that is my ambition'.

He also revealed which of the Chelsea players he talked to before joining the club and it was one who has only made two appearances for the senior side!

"I was talking with Andrey [Santos] on Instagram," he said. "I asked about the guys, about the club and he said good things about the team so it's good to oin.

"When you join one club and you know one of the players it makes it easy for sure."
