Viktor Gyokeres talks, Noni Madueke backlash and questions over Arsenal vandalism

by · football.london

Another week has gone and Arsenal look to be closing in on their fourth signing of the summer as an agreement has been found for Noni Madueke to join from Chelsea. The deal, believed to be in excess of £50million with add-ons included, will finally get Mikel Arteta the depth for Bukayo Saka that has been needed for some time.

However, it has sparked a significant reaction from the fan base, with some quarters going way beyond what is appropriate and right. Others have even overstepped the mark, with images circulating of the murals on Hornsea Road being vandalised with abuse. Arteta is certainly under pressure to take yet another player from Chelsea, but there is a greater desire to spend more.

Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze are the primary targets, and the club hopes to press ahead with talks for both. Outgoings could still free up funds, while a move for Valencia’s Cristhian Mosquera remaining in discussion.
