Arsenal vs Chelsea Premier League clash simulated to get a London derby score prediction

by · football.london

Arsenal and Chelsea go head to head in the Premier League later today, with lots on the line for both sides.

Despite the gap between Arsenal and Liverpool being 15 points, the Gunners still believe there is a title to challenge for, but anything but a win today could all but confirm the end of their title charge. As for Chelsea, the Blues are looking to secure a place in the top four, and with just five points separating Enzo Maresca's side in fourth and Bournemouth in ninth heading into the weekend, Chelsea need to be winning as many as possible until the end of the season.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea secured their spots in the next round of their respective European competitions midweek, with Arsenal beating PSV 9-3 on aggregate to set up a clash with Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals. The points were shared in the earlier meeting between the two this season, with goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Pedro Neto confirming a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

So, what could happen between Arsenal and Chelsea in the Premier League later today? Let's take a look...

Arsenal vs Chelsea score predicted

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that Arsenal could line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; Nwaneri, Merino, Trossard.

We predict that Chelsea could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Sanchez; James, Fofana, Colwill, Cucurella; Caicedo, Lavia; Palmer, Fernandez, Nkunku; Neto.

An electric start to the clash at the Emirates Stadium saw both sides create big chances early on, while four yellow cards were handed out in a fiery opening 15 minutes. As the game calmed down, Arsenal started to control possession, and 23 minutes in, it was the Gunners who took the lead.

Ethan Nwaneri drifted into a central position before coming short for the ball, dragging Levi Colwill well out of position to leave a huge gap in the Chelsea defence. Nwaneri bounced a pass back to Declan Rice before bursting past Colwill and into the gap, and after being picked out by Rice, the youngster drilled a great shot in at the near post to make it 1-0.

Moments later, Arsenal made it 2-0, with Leandro Trossard getting two bites of the cherry, scoring on the second attempt from close range after his original header was saved. It was proving to be a dominant display from Arteta's side, and not long after the restart, Nwaneri got on the scoresheet again.

A misplaced pass by Moises Caicedo allowed Arsenal to hit Chelsea on the break deep in their half, with the Gunners moving the ball to Nwaneri outside of the box. The 17-year-old rolled the ball onto his left before curling a wonderful effort into the top corner, with his early strike catching out Robert Sanchez who was left stranded.

Chelsea pulled a goal back in the 89th minute when Cole Palmer tapped into an empty net following a David Raya save, but it proved nothing more than a consolation as Arsenal emerged victorious.
