Chelsea's dream forward line after huge deal agreed during Club World Cup

by · football.london

Chelsea are building their forward line for next season, which could look very different by the time the new Premier League campaign rolls around.

The Blues have already been active in the transfer market this summer and look set to welcome more new additions in the weeks ahead.

Liam Delap has already been signed by Chelsea in a £30million deal from Ipswich Town.

The striker is now impressing with the Blues squad at the FIFA Club World Cup and will be staking a claim to be the starting centre forward at Stamford Bridge next term, but will also face competition from Nicolas Jackson, who scored 13 goals for Chelsea last term.

Chelsea have also agreed a deal with Borussia Dortmund to sign Jamie Gittens. football.london understands that a deal worth £55million has been agreed between the two clubs that will see Gittens become a Chelsea player after weeks of interest speculation.

With Gittens expected to move to Stamford Bridge in the next few weeks, the England Under-21 international will hope to be the starting left winger for the Blues next season.

Gittens will also have to compete with Pedro Neto on the left side of the forward line, while Tyrique George has impressed when given an opportunity in the first team.

That leaves the right wing spot, which could be filled by Noni Madueke next season. It remains to be seen if Chelsea will look to sign another right winger, but it's also possible that current members of the squad will depart.

Christopher Nkunku has been linked with a permanent exit, while Raheem Sterling's future is uncertain as he returns from his loan spell from Arsenal. Marc Guiu is also rumoured to be heading for the exit door on a loan move.

Maresca will want squad depth across the pitch when Chelsea begin their Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace on August 17. The Blues will also have Champions League football to prepare for next term, which is likely to influence their transfer business and squad-building tactics.
