Tottenham Hotspur have plenty of absent players to work without as they take on Ferencvaros on Thursday night in the Europa League.

Spurs have travelled to Hungary without the injured Son Heung-min, Destiny Udogie, Wilson Odobert and Richarlison, while Radu Dragusin is suspended and Djed Spence and Sergio Reguilon, who has travelled to train with the team, were both left out of the club's Europa League squad as there was no space for them.

Ange Postecoglou has brought along a smattering of academy youngsters who could make the squad for the game in Budapest in the shape of Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear, who both train regularly with the first team, as well as defenders Alfie Dorrington and Dante Cassanova and 18-year-old winger Damola Ajayi.

Archie Gray played as a centre-back during pre-season and the £40million 18-year-old could get a competitive start in the position if Postecoglou decides to rest Micky van de Ven on the rainswept pitch after the Dutchman played plenty of football over the past week.

James Maddison held a press conference on Wednesday in the Hungarian capital, but that does not always guarantee the player is in the starting line-up for the next day's match.

Postecoglou must also be wary that Tottenham travel to Brighton three two and a half days after the game in Budapest for a high energy Premier League game.

Here's the team we reckon Postecoglou could select to face Ferencvaros at the Groupama Arena.

Goalkeeper - Guglielmo Vicario

Right-back - Pedro Porro

Centre-back - Cristian Romero

Centre-back - Archie Gray

The teenager could get a chance to show his versatility with a centre-back role as he did in pre-season to give Van de Ven some rest.

Left-back - Ben Davies

While Gray could technically have a go at left-back, Davies makes sense in terms of balance.

Central midfield - Pape Matar Sarr

Central midfield - Yves Bissouma

Central midfield - Lucas Bergvall

Postecoglou needs to give Bergvall time after coming off early last week and will have Maddison in reserve, ready to come off the bench.(Image: Visionhaus/Getty Images)

Right wing - Mikey Moore

Maddison had plenty of exciting things to say about Moore and it feels like that first start is coming soon after he almost scored late on at Old Trafford.(Image: Michael Regan/Getty Images)

Centre forward - Dominic Solanke

Left wing - Timo Werner
