Alejandro Garnacho hooked at half-time after furious Chelsea star screamed at him

Alejandro Garnacho was on the receiving end of a furious X-rated outburst by Chelsea teammate Pedro Neto in the first-half of their Premier League clash with Nottingham Forest, before being replaced at half-time.

The summer signing retained his spot in Enzo Maresca's starting 11 after playing 75 minutes in the 2-1 win over Liverpool before the international break.

Garnacho played on the left of Chelsea's attack with Neto on the other flank and Joao Pedro down the middle. Despite Forest's recent struggles under Ange Postecoglou, the Blues struggled to break down a stubborn home defence.

In a frustrating first-half display, Garnacho felt the brunt of a frustrated Neto after failing to get himself in the right attacking position. The Portuguese sent a dangerous cross towards the back post, but Garnacho was nowhere to be seen.

After the ball bounced out of play, Neto unleashed his fury at Garnacho. At half-time, with the scoreline level, Maresca acted and made three changes.

Garnacho was one of the three who came off with Andrey Santos and Romeo Lavia also being replaced. Jamie Gittens, Moises Caicedo and Marc Guiu came on with Chelsea scoring just three minutes later.

After a free-kick was cleared, Neto delivered a perfect cross for Josh Acheampong to head past Matz Sels from inside the six yard box. Neto then turned goalscorer when his free-kick was too good for Sels. Reece James completed a 3-0 win for the visitors.

Maresca was unable to turn to Enzo Fernandes off the bench in Nottingham. The midfielder was left out of the squad due to an injury after being a major doubt for the clash.

When team news was released on Saturday morning, Fernandez was the notable exclusion. Moises Caicedo was also a concern for the game, but he was named on the bench.

"It's not a big concern," Maresca said. "He's out for injury. Hopefully he can be back very soon."

It's understood that Fernandez is suffering a knee injury. The midfielder has been an ever-present in Maresca's midfield this season, making 10 appearances in all competitions.
