Arsenal hatch transfer plan as Leroy Sane stance emerges amid Bayern Munich talks
by Isaac Seelochan · football.londonArsenal have reportedly yet to decide whether they will make a move for Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane.
The former Manchester City winger has recently been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium. Bayern are currently looking to extend the 29-year-old's contract, which concludes at the end of this season, Arsenal reportedly have a good chance of signing him.
It is said that Sane has always harboured a wish to live and play in London, putting the Gunners on alert. The Germany international has scored eight goals and provided four assists for Vincent Kompany's team so far this season.
But any potential move to Mikel Arteta's side is some way off, with the Gunners said to have not made a decision. Arsenal's new sporting director, Andrea Berta, will reportedly assess any possible transfers soon.
"No decision has been made on Sane yet," he said via his latest newsletter for GiveMeSport. "Bayern Munich are still in talks with him to discuss a potential new contract.
"Arsenal's new sporting director Andrea Berta will discuss targets internally soon."
The Gunners are desperately short of attacking options currently. Arteta is without Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz due to long-term injuries, with Bukayo Saka also out.
Arsenal's struggles up-front have seen them fall 15 points behind Liverpool in the Premier League title race as the Gunners wait for a top-flight title since 2004 looks set to go on. Arteta's men remain in the Champions League, however, but face a tall order in the quarter-finals, where they face holders Real Madrid in a competition they have never won before.
