Ange Postecoglou's under-the-radar Tottenham star and Thomas Tuchel's Djed Spence England call

Thursday was a night to remember for Ange Postecoglou and his Tottenham side as they secured their place in the Europa League quarter-finals. Defeating AZ Alkmaar 3-2 on aggregate after recovering from a 1-0 deficit in the first leg, Spurs will now take on Eintracht Frankfurt in April for a place in the semi-finals.

Tottenham looked so much better for having their senior stars in the team, with the leadership group of Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, James Maddison and Son Heung-min really stepping up to the plate to guide the club to the next stage of the competition. A number of other players more than played their part in the game, including Lucas Bergvall, Wilson Odobert and Dominic Solanke.

On a night where Odobert grabbed the headlines with his double, Bergvall was outstanding in midfield and Solanke, whose performance perhaps went under the radar, also made a huge difference in the final third with the qualities he brings to the team. As well as that, the duo also spoke about Sunday's game at Fulham and Thomas Tuchel's first squad as England head coach. Ahead of the first international break of the season, the German has called up Solanke but Maddison and Djed Spence have been overlooked.

Spence's omission is perhaps incredibly harsh after playing a major role for Tottenham over the past few months. England are without Trent Alexander-Arnold and Lewis Hall for this month's fixtures but unfortunately there is to be no place for the Spurs man.
