Chelsea have already made £91m transfer commitment to make Jadon Sancho exit inevitable

Chelsea had spent well over £200million on a number of attackers in the last few years and further moves being made is expected. Ever since the arrival of Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, the Blues have sanctioned close to 50 transfers with some of those players acquired yet to even play for the club.

A youthful group has certainly been formed at Stamford Bridge and that lack of nous and experience has often cost Enzo Maresca's side at points this season. Chelsea have headed into the March international break following defeat to Arsenal where Cole Palmer was absent due to injury.

The over-reliance on Palmer has become another glaring issue for Chelsea especially as he has struggled in recent weeks. Pedro Neto and Christopher Nkunku have looked better in this new system without Nicolas Jackson but both have been far too inconsistent.

Noni Madueke is also out injured while Mykhailo Mudryk remains unavailable after testing positive for a banned substance. That finally brings us to Jadon Sancho and it was him that Maresca chose to replace Palmer with in the starting XI to face Arsenal, however he made no lasting impact on the game.

A goal or assist would have been the perfect response to talk of Chelsea not wanting to sign him permanently this summer despite the obligation-to-buy clause included in his loan switch from Manchester United. Instead, it was somewhat made clear why Chelsea may be looking for a way out.

Regardless of whether or not the Blues pay that £25million, Sancho is unlikely to last long at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea's attack will be significantly bolstered over the coming years. Firstly, Kendry Paez and Estevao Willian will officially arrive at the club this summer with Chelsea having spent a total of £51million on both.

The two teenagers are already widely-regarded and could quite feasibly be the future of the club. If Sancho's position in the squad wasn't untenable from that, Chelsea recently agreeing to sign Geovany Quenda from Sporting CP for £40million certainly made it so.

With three attacking talents for the future signed, some room will need to be made in the squad and it is very likely Sancho will be one of those sacrificed. There are two ways this scenario can be approached however, with the first being Chelsea opting out of their obligatory payment to Man United which would see them forced to still pay a fee.

Alternatively, pay that set amount and hope to recoup the bulk of it later down the line. One way of potentially helping achieve that would be to loan Sancho out and hope his value can increase courtesy of a positive spell elsewhere.

Either way, due to a number of factors, it seems as though Sancho's time at Chelsea will be over sooner than most expected.
