Hugo Ekitike delivers clear message amid Arsenal £86m transfer links
by Mark Wakefield · football.londonEintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike has fired a clear message amid links of a potential transfer to Arsenal.
The Gunners have been credited with an interest in signing Ekitike in recent days, as they continue their search for a new centre forward this summer. A host of strikers have been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer, with Ekitike joined by RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko and Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres in being tipped to sign for Arsenal - with the latter two firm options.
Reports from Germany have recently stated that Arsenal have joined the race to sign Ekitike and, now, the striker has delivered a clear message.
On his Instagram story, Ekitike has posted two videos and a photo from an individual training session. The posts show the Frankfurt star getting ready to return for pre-season training with the Bundesliga club amid links of a potential transfer.
Frankfurt are scheduled to report back for pre-season training duties on Monday, where Ekitike will be expected to feature unless a potential transfer progresses.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal's links to signing Ekitike turn out to be genuine and they pursue a deal to bring the France Under-21 international to the Emirates.
Various reports have claimed to provide details of a potential transfer fee for Ekitike, with suggestions that Frankfurt have set an asking price of around €100million (£86million).
Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have also been credited with an interest in signing Ekitike this summer, as the striker continues to be tipped to leave Frankfurt and pursue a move to the Premier League.
Arsenal have until September 1 to complete their transfer business for the summer, at which point the window will close until the New Year.
