Chelsea set for Premier League fixture change after FC Copenhagen Conference League win

Chelsea's Premier League fixture against Ipswich Town is set to be rearranged after the Blues advanced to the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League.

Enzo Maresca's side beat Copenhagen 2-1 and 1-0 in both ties to secure a 3-1 aggregate win over the Danish outfit and set up a quarter-final tie against Legia Warszawa at the start of April.

However, the Blues' Premier League fixture against relegation-battling Ipswich Town will now be moved to accommodate the first leg of the Conference League tie.

Originally, the Blues were slated to host the Tractor Boys at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, April 12.

But the game is set to be pushed back just over 24 hours until Sunday, April 13 due to the Conference League tie taking place on Thursday, April 10.

However, Chelsea fans will be unable to watch the game in the United Kingdom because it was originally scheduled to be part of the Saturday afternoon blackout.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the game, Maresca said: "It's important to reach the quarter-finals. Now the target is the next step which is the semi-finals. We deserved it over two legs. We changed and adjusted in the second half and we were much better. You need patience."

Maresca added: "This club always won trophies in the past and we need to do our best to achieve our target this season. We have to give to the fans and the club a title."

Next up for Chelsea is a Premier League clash against Arsenal this weekend.
