Caoimhin Kelleher expected to make January move as Chelsea learn transfer decision on Liverpool star

Caoimhin Kelleher is reputedly increasingly likely to leave Liverpool during the winter transfer window after recently being linked to Chelsea.

football.london understands those reports are wide of the mark and that the Blues believe strongly in Robert Sanchez while having confidence about the future of the goalkeeper position with summer signings Filip Jorgensen and Mike Penders. The club are also not among the favourites to sign the Republic of Ireland international.

After saving a Kylian Mbappe penalty during Liverpool's 2-0 win over Real Madrid, the odds on Kelleher joining another club have narrowed. However, the current favourite is not a Premier League club, but they also played in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

TG Casino dropped the odds on Celtic signing Kelleher from 11/2 to 5/1 following the goalkeeper's latest performance in the absence of Alisson Becker, who is still recovering from a hamstring injury that has now sidelined him for nine matches. Leeds United, who currently top the Championship table, are third favourites at 7/1, with Nottingham Forest at 8/1, months after having a cash-plus player offer, including former Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner, who has since signed for Crystal Palace, rejected by Liverpool.

Tottenham Hotspur are at 9/1, with Guglielmo Vicario set to be out for months after breaking his ankle during Spurs' 4-0 win over Manchester City. Inter are also at the same price, whose first-choice goalkeeper, Yann Sommer, will turn 35 next month, while any other team outside of those half-a-dozen clubs signing Kelleher is 10/1.
