Fulham vs Tottenham simulated to get a Premier League score prediction
by Lewis Barton · football.londonAfter a big win midweek, Tottenham make the short trip to west London to take on Fulham in the Premier League later today.
A Wilson Odobert brace either side of a James Maddison strike secured a 3-1 win for Spurs against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League midweek, with Ange Postecoglou's side winning 3-2 on aggregate as they booked their spot in the quarter-finals of the competition. But now, attention quickly turns back to the Premier League, with the Lilywhites taking on London rivals Fulham.
Spurs entered the weekend 15 points off the top four with 10 games to play, so three points against Fulham later today is vital if the Lilywhites want European football next season. The meeting between the two sides earlier this season ended 1-1, with Brennan Johnson's opener being cancelled out by Tom Cairney.
So, can Spurs pick up three points in the final game before the international break? Let's take a look.
We simulated Fulham vs Spurs to get a score prediction
To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 25 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.
We predict that the hosts could set up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, with their line-up as follows: Leno; Castagne, Andersen, Bassey, Robinson; Reed, Pereira; Iwobi, Smith Rowe, Willian; Jimenez.
We predict that Spurs could line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their starting XI as follows: Vicario; Spence, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie; Bentancur, Sarr, Maddison; Johnson, Solanke, Tel.
Spurs were fantastic in the opening stages, but they were lacking the finishing touch with Mathys Tel and Dominic Solanke both missing big chances to put Postecoglou's side ahead. Fulham had no shots in the first half as Spurs peppered the hosts' goal with shots, and 38 minutes in, they finally broke the deadlock.
Brennan Johnson did well to beat his man down the left and burst into space, with the winger spotting the run of Solanke in the middle and firing an early cross into the box. The driven cross bent perfectly into the path of the striker, and Solanke fired into the bottom corner with a first-time finish to make it 1-0.
Spurs dominated after the restart, but once again they were poor in front of goal, with more big chances evading them. Postecoglou's side were made to pay for their missed chances in the 88th minute though, with substitute Rodrigo Muniz pouncing on a loose ball in the box to tap home from close range and steal a late point for the hosts.
