Seven players expected to miss Arsenal vs Fulham as key star returns from injury

Arsenal and Fulham will both be without key players when they go head-to-head in the Premier League.

Tuesday night will see the Gunners host Fulham at the Emirates Stadium in their first match after the international break - some 16 days after their last fixture.

There are 12 points separating Arsenal in second place with Liverpool, who are at the top of the table. Mikel Arteta is guaranteed to be without for players in the Gunners squad that will take on Fulham in the London derby.

Riccardo Calafiori is unavailable after picking up a knee injury during the international break.

"Really unfortunate the way it happened," Arteta told reporters pre-match when he was asked about Calafiori's injury. "It could have been much worse. So hopefully it's going to be a matter of weeks. But we'll have to see how that injury evolves."

Arteta added: "A knee injury, yes. Yeah, two injuries. They were picked up with the national team. One was a kick and the other one is a really bad turn twist when he slips with the surface.

"The other one was muscular. But I mean, the main two injuries that he had, very little to do, very unfortunate."

Takehiro Tomiyasu, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are also side-lined with season-ending injuries. Bukayo Saka is expected to return, though, after recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered back in December.

For Fulham, they will also have some players unavailable due to injuries. Reiss Nelson is side-lined with a hamstring injury which could rule the Arsenal loanee out for the remainder of the campaign.

However, he would not have been eligible to face his parent club had he been fit anyway.

Harry Wilson has been side-lined with an ankle injury since January and he's not expected to return. Kenny Tete has not played for Fulham since suffering an injury back in December and he's also expected to remain on the side-lines for the impending clash against Arsenal.
