Arsenal may have Premier League title advantage as Alexis Mac Allister fires Liverpool warning
by Stephen Killen · football.londonLiverpool star Alexis Mac Allister has issued a warning that the Premier League title race is far from over for Arsenal.
The Argentinian's admission comes after their 3-2 defeat at Fulham on Sunday with the Anfield club gifting Marco Silva's side a two-goal advantage, which proved to be too great of a task to overcome.
Their defeat meant that Arsenal's draw at Everton on Saturday wasn't too detrimental with the deficit to the league leaders sitting at 11 points.
That margin could be reduced further to eight points if Arsenal overcome Brentford on Saturday evening which could heap pressure on Arne Slot's side, who host West Ham United on Sunday (2.30pm kick-off).
Mac Allister has warned against people suggesting that the title race is over and Liverpool have claimed their second top-flight crown in five years.
"I think there is going to be a lot of people saying that this Premier League is done, but in the dressing room we know that it’s not," he told the official Liverpool website.
"We still have a lot of games coming up and all of them are really difficult in a league like this.
"Everyone is fighting for something.
"We have to make sure that we play the way we know and play the way we want and not make the mistakes we’ve done today."
Liverpool face a tricky run-in with the visit of Arsenal at the beginning of May, rounding off a group of fixtures that features tough encounters with Tottenham Hotspur - at home - and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
It has been said that Liverpool could win the Premier League as early as April 20, should results go their way but in their final seven matches, they just need 11 points to regain the crown.
