Chelsea win FIFA Club World Cup with stunning PSG victory

Chelsea have won the FIFA Club World Cup after an impressive 3-0 victory over UEFA Champions League winner Paris Saint-Germain in the final in New Jersey.

The Blues were brilliant from front to back for Enzo Maresca, with two goals from the brilliant Cole Palmer and then another one from new signing Joao Pedro. Robert Sanchez made a few outstanding saves to ensure the victory too.

Chelsea got in behind the PSG defence time and time again during the 90 minutes, making a mockery of the Champions League winners' title.

PSG were the overwhelming favourites to lift the trophy, having beaten Real Madrid in the semi-finals and before that Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals, but perhaps those performances caught up with them as Chelsea did a number on the French side.

Palmer was at his scintillating best to pull the strings for Chelsea, who have clearly made an astute signing in Joao Pedro too, popping up with his third goal after arriving from Brighton this summer.

Chelsea had made it through to the final by finishing second in group D and then seeing off Benfica, Palmeiras and Fluminense on the way to their meeting with PSG in the final.

There was chaos after the final whistle, however, marring the achievement somewhat, with PSG boss Luis Enrique involved in an altercation with Joao Pedro.

Chelsea will now have three weeks off, as per FIFA guidelines, before the Blues return just in time for the start of the new 2025/26 Premier League season.
