Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli - Latest Arsenal injury news and return dates before PSV

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is unlikely to receive a fitness boost before their next encounter against PSV Eindhoven. However, their Champions League second-leg against the Dutch giants poses an opportunity to rest key players and offer important gametime to those on the fringes as they take a hefty six-goal advantage into their clash.

The Spaniard's side are looking to continue their push in Europe despite suffering another setback in the Premier League title race. Arsenal failed to inflict misery on Manchester United after needing a Declan Rice goal to salvage a point, their draw was far from smooth sailing as David Raya made a number of key saves to keep the Red Devils at bay.

There were some positives however as Gabriel Martinelli returned to the matchday squad for the first time since he was forced after 37 minutes during their Carabao Cup semi-final defeat to Newcastle United over a month ago. The Brazilian winger returned to action as he was afforded a 32-minute cameo at Old Trafford.

Although, there are still injury issues at the Emirates Stadium with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus ruled out for the remainder of the campaign. Takehiro Tomiyasu has managed just six minutes so far this season, coming in a substitute appearance during their 3-1 win over Southampton, however the Japanese international will be sidelined until the backend of the year with a knee injury.

Bukayo Saka is edging closer to a return, on a brighter note, after recovering from surgery. Arteta hopes that the England international will be back after the upcoming international break after missing 17 matches for the North London club after limping out of their 5-1 win over Crystal Palace in December.

The Gunners face back-to-back London derbies either side of the enforced interval as they host both Chelsea and Fulham. Arteta said: "With Gabi it was a bit different the kind of injury that he had.

"And we talked, I think last week, that he was much closer than B. After the international break let’s see where he (Saka) is.

"His progress is really good, he is really willing - as you can all imagine - so we are positive that in a few weeks hopefully he will be back."
