Gabriel Jesus breaks silence on Arsenal injury nightmare after Mikel Arteta blow

Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus has spoken out for the first time since suffering a season-ending knee injury earlier this month.

The Brazilian, 27, was forced off in the 39th minute of the FA Cup defeat to Manchester United after colliding with United midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

Just days later, Arsenal confirmed that Jesus, who had scored five goals in his last six appearances in all competitions, had sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury to his left leg and would require surgery to correct the issue.

And on Wednesday, the Brazilian international took to social media for the first time since sustaining the injury.

Writing on X, Jesus said: "There will always be answers to everything, which we will only know later on. I believe and trust in God."

After the severity of Jesus' injury was confirmed, Arteta revealed that Arsenal will explore the possibility of recruiting a striker this month.

"Yes for sure because we lost two big players - Bukayo could be out for three months and Gabby is going to be out for a long time too," Arteta told TNT Sport. "We are going to try for sure. We are actively looking.

"We have lost two very important players, we have 14 players in the squad and we play every three days. So, we will try and let's see what we can get."

Earlier this month, former Manchester United and England defender Rio Ferdinand urged the Gunners to consider a move for former Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, who now plays for Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad.

Victor Osimhen and Dusan Vlahovic have also been linked with a move to Arsenal.
