Chelsea told exactly what they need to do to complete huge Man United transfer
by Bruna Reis, Kieran King · football.londonManchester United are reportedly ready to let Alejandro Garnacho leave if Napoli meet their £70million asking price as Chelsea watch on.
The 20-year-old has had a challenging start under Ruben Amorim, and it's said that United are open to offers for all players, including academy graduates. Garnacho, who still has three-and-a-half years left on his contract, has caught the eye of Serie A leaders Napoli.
Antonio Conte's team have proposed around £50m plus add-ons for Garnacho - but United are holding out for a higher fee for the Argentine international. As per The Mirror, Amorim's United are looking for around £70m to part ways with Garnacho in the January transfer window.
Chelsea are also keeping an eye on the situation and are interested in signing him this month. The Blues, along with Garnacho, are also tracking United's Kobbie Mainoo, whose long-term future is currently uncertain.
However, it's unlikely that United will sell both players this winter. It's suggested that United are willing to offload Garnacho to fund Amorim's rebuilding project at Old Trafford.
Garnacho has found it tough to shine in Amorim's 3-4-2-1 formation, having netted just one goal and provided one assist in 14 games since the Portuguese took over as head coach. United are aiming to increase the price tag for Garnacho after a £23m bid for Lecce left-back Patrick Dorgu was turned down.
The Italian club, however, are demanding £33m for the Danish international. Lecce's president Sticchi Damiani has made it clear that the club's priority is to maintain their Serie A status, stating: "We met with Manchester United and we told them that our plan is to keep our key players, including Patrick Dorgu. We're delighted to have Manchester United here to make a proposal, but our target to stay in Serie A is crucial."
Meanwhile, United are looking to offload players not in Amorim's plans, with Marcus Rashford's future uncertain after not playing since December 12. Rashford's camp is reportedly in discussions with Barcelona.
In other news, Antony seems set for a loan stint at Real Betis, having not started in the Premier League this season, with his departure from United expected imminently.
