'To be honest' - Leroy Sane sends clear Arsenal transfer message as deal timeline set

Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane has poured cold water on transfer speculation following links with Arsenal. The Germany international has enjoyed a trophy-laden spell with the Bundesliga giants but has been mooted with an exit, as his contract expires at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old has 51 goals and 50 assists in 186 appearances for the Bavarian club, winning three German top-flight crowns during that time. He made the move back to his homeland after an equally successful stint with Manchester City, netting 39 times as well as providing 43 times - winning two Premier League titles in that time.

As he enters the final six months of his current deal at the Allianz Arena, rumours have arisen and murmurs have suggested that Sane could return to the Premier League. Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been mooted as possible suitors, with the Gunners and the Red Devils said to be keeping tabs on the Germany international for a potential free transfer in the summer.

However, Sane has downplayed concerns over his future. He told Sport BILD: "I have confidence in myself, in the situation and also in my club. We are in a transparent and relaxed exchange.

"I feel really good, the talks with Vinni [Kompany], Max Eberl and Christoph Freund are very good and trusting. That’s why my thoughts are currently only on Bayern, we will see everything else in the next few weeks and months.

"The topic [money] is not on my mind at all right now. And how much I earn is not my top priority. To be honest, I haven’t thought about it for a second.

"I will definitely not sign for another club on January 1 or 2. I don’t need a quick decision," he added. "I have a sympathy for the league, I still watch certain games on TV.

"The attraction for me lies in the club where I can show my best performance, develop and win titles. I have that at Bayern. This is where I have my greatest challenge and goals."
