Ian Wright given new Arsenal role for Champions League clash vs PSG
by Jake Stokes · football.londonIan Wright has taken on a brilliant new role ahead of Arsenal's clash against Paris Saint-Germain. The Gunners will host Luis Enrique's side at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final.
Arsenal stormed past Real Madrid in the quarterfinals, winning 5-1 on aggregate. Declan Rice fired the north Londoners to victory on home turf, taking a three-goal lead to the Santiago Bernabeu.

The French giants enjoyed a 3-1 win over Unai Emery's side at Les Parc des Princes in the first leg as they flexed their title credentials. But the Premier League outfit came out fighting in the return fixture, exposing weak spots in the PSG starting lineup.
Aston Villa won 3-2 on the night, but they left the competition with their heads held high. Ahead of Arsenal's clash against PSG, Wright has taken on a brilliant new role, trying his hand at acting.
The Arsenal legend has featured in an advert for Adidas alongside Myles Lewis-Skelly and Jurrien Timber. Wright played a holiday agent for a fictional travel company, while the Gunners duo starred as customers looking to buy tickets to Paris.
Arsenal will lock horns with PSG in the French capital in the second leg of the semi-final on Wednesday, May 7. Speaking recently on the Stick to Football podcast, Wright backed the north London outfit to win the competition.
"You have to think that Arsenal can win the Champions League," began the Gunners legend. "PSG have beaten them before, but that was a different PSG – and Arsenal are different too.
"This is the semi-final. I saw that four teams have won the Champions League for the first time in Munich, and that will be either Arsenal or PSG.
"I got so sucked into that! It’s the stage of the competition where you are very nervous because it comes down to whether the players are ready to go for it now."
Paul Merson has also backed his former club to win the Champions League. Speaking on Sky Sports, the Arsenal icon said: "Yeah, I think Arsenal win over two legs.
"I think Arsenal win, I think we still get carried away with the PSG of the first leg against Liverpool. I thought they were outstanding, one of the best team performances we’ve seen this season from anyone.
"But they lost the game, they lost that game 1-0, people still forget that. They are outstanding. But they were hanging on, absolutely hanging on at Anfield.
"Then they go and play Villa and they absolutely dominated Villa, scored last kick of the game which worked out to be a priceless goal in the end to go 3-1 up.
"Then they want to Villa Park and at times in that game, it got to stages where you’re thinking there’s only one winner here and that’s Aston Villa."
