Enzo Maresca has provided an injury update on Pedro Neto and Romeo Lavia ahead of Chelsea's clash with Wolves on Saturday evening.

Lavia limped off in the opening exchanges of the Blues' draw with Qarabag on Wednesday evening with a quad injury, while Neto did not travel with the rest of the squad to Azerbaijan after suffering a knock in the days before.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday morning, Maresca said on Lavia: "Yeah, we don't have an update at the moment, so we need to wait still some hours to do all the checks that he needs, but for sure at the moment he's injured. It's painful, so we need to do all the checks and then we'll see."

Asked how concerned he is, Maresca said: "It's a shame. It's a shame in this moment also because we are trying to minimise menus for him. But even with that, he's injured again. We need to insist until we don't find the right solution for him."

On Neto, the Italian added: "Pedro, he had a session yesterday with the physio outside in the pitch, it was good, and today he will travel with us and then we'll take the final decision."

Lavia will almost certainly play no part in the match against Wolves on Saturday, which will kick-off at 8pm UK time. Neto, though, seemingly could be included in the matchday squad if he gets through Friday's training session.

Elsewhere, Levi Colwill and Dario Essugo are not expected to return until 2026, while there is hope Benoit Badiashile could make his comeback after the November international break. Cole Palmer continues his recovery from a groin injury and is eyeing a return at the start of December.
