Psyonix has revealed the long-awaited upgrade to Rocket League at the RLCS Paris Major 2026. The game is being built on Unreal Engine 6. Epic Games is currently on Unreal Engine 5, so this was a bit of a surprise. Check out the reveal trailer here.

Rocket League developer Psyonix was acquired by Epic Games way back in 2019, but the game continued to run on Unreal Engine 3 for over a decade.

Today's announcement trailer highlights new lighting, reflection, and texture effects in the game and describes Rocket League as entering a "New Era."

Only time will tell how many players will jump back into Rocket League's new coat of paint whenever it launches. Psyonix did not provide a release date for this new Unreal Engine 6 version of the game, so keep it locked on Shacknews for all the Rocket League news as it breaks.
