Emily in Paris season 5 has officially wrapped, and as per usual, the show has left us scrambling to find out which of our questions will be answered in the following season. And it's no surprise—this season has so many cliffhangers to keep track of, a true list (okay, a quick log in the Notes app) is required to make sure that no plot point is left behind!

It might be a tradition at the point, but like always, fans were left wondering who Emily Cooper will end up with at the end of season 5. She gave things with Marcello a shot, but as we all know, shit happens. And this time, Mindy's relationship status is up in the air, potentially planting the seeds for an epic love triangle pentagon that might truly rock season 6.

But until then, let's recap everything that happened at the end of season 5 of Emily in Paris before season 6 gets the green light. Spoilers ahead, obviously.

Mindy and Nicolas make up after he proves his devotion by leaving his family's company, JVMA, for her...which sounds great, minus the fact that she was hooking up with Alfie as her summer fling (and behind Emily's back, no less). The pair called it off before the engagement, but Alfie wasn't exactly thrilled at them getting back together.

While Mindy is away in Venice, Alfie gives her a call and says, “I know we like to joke and tease each other a lot, but don’t pretend we don’t have something,” and the two plan to meet up when she returns to Paris—gee, what could go wrong?

During her Venice trip, Nicolas ends up popping the question, and she excitedly accepts. As for the meeting Mindy and Alfie were supposed to schedule? That turned into an awkward run-in back in Paris, with Alfie peeping her new engagement ring and telling Mindy that she is making a big mistake. And thus, the seeds of doubt are born because of their ~lingering feelings~ for each other!

Mindy's story ends with her ultimately questioning if she's making the right choice with staying engaged to Nicolas, and if her engagement didn't complicate things enough, there's also Emily: When Mindy asks Emily if she still has feelings for Alfie, Emily is incapable of giving a clear answer, setting the groundwork for a five-way Nico-Mindy-Alfie-Emily-Gabriel love pentagon in season 6. Speaking of Gabriel...

Who does Emily end up with at the end of season 5?

Emily gives her romance with Marcello a shot at the beginning of the season after a relocation to Agence Grateau’s new Rome office, and works with Muratori... which happens to be owned by Marcello's mother, Antonia. After a disaster of a launch party, which destroys the city of Solitano, Agence Grateau is fired. Marcello also lies to Emily the whole time they were together, and tells her that JVMA upped its offer to acquire his family's brand behind her back—upset, Emily breaks off their relationship.

By episode 7, Marcello and Nico go into business together, and Marcello starts his own fashion house. Marcello and the brand look to Emily's agency for marketing, leading the pair to get back together—but when his brand is offered a spot in Venice Fashion Week, Marcello and Emily's relationship hangs in the balance when he asks her to go back to Italy. When Emily, Mindy, Nicolas and Marcello take a gondola ride through Venice, Emily mistakenly thinks Marcello is getting ready to propose to her (when the ring was really meant for Mindy) and says no, leading them to realize their relationship lacks alignment. They break up yet again!

Emily and Gabriel have a few run-ins during the season, and he even shows up in the first episode to win her back—but he backs off after seeing how happy she is with Marcello. Things change by the end of the season, though, when he receives a text from Sylvie saying that Emily is single.

He takes on a job as a private-chef for a billionaire's yacht, and is given a few weeks off in Greece. Taking the leap, Gabriel writes Emily a postcard and invites her to join him in Greece, but alas—fans will have to wait for Emily's response in season 6.

Is that Agence Grateau still alive, or...?

Agence Grateau's Rome office closes down after the disastrous Muratori event and their lack of Italian clients, leading the firm to return to Paris. And to make matters worse, Grateau is facing serious financial debts, so when Emily comes back to Grateau—especially after turning down Muratori following the blessing she was given—Sylvie was shocked. Even more shocking, Princess Jane, who essentially ruined the Muratori event, becomes an equity partner in the brand, which will no doubt lead to an array of hilarious work shenanigans in season 6.
