The winning ticket in last night's EuroMillions draw was bought in the Ulster region, the National Lottery has said.

The jackpot was worth €17m and there was just one winning ticket.

The National Lottery said the ticket was sold in a shop in the Ulster region.

The winning numbers were 07, 25, 30, 37, 41 and the lucky stars were 05 and 11.

The National Lottery said it was encouraging people to check their tickets.

Meanwhile, an online player in Co Limerick became the second biggest winner of the night after scooping the €500,000 prize in the EuroMillions Plus draw.

In that draw, the winning numbers were 11, 16, 31, 35 and 38.

Last June, a EuroMillions player in Munster scooped €250m, the highest ever won in Ireland.

Dolores McNamara was Ireland's first EuroMillions winner, collecting more than €115m in July 2005.

In June 2013, a Dublin player picked up more than €93m in a share of a jackpot worth over €187m, while in July 2020 an online player won €49.5m with a €2.50 ticket.

A spokesperson for the National Lottery said: "We are absolutely thrilled to announce that an Irish player has won the €17m EuroMillions jackpot in last night's draw.

"This is the second EuroMillions jackpot won in Ireland this year, following the historic €250m win in June.

"We’re encouraging all players to check their tickets very carefully. If you are the winner, sign the back of your ticket and keep it somewhere safe."
