Kilkenny-Limerick postponed due to unplayable pitch
· RTE.ieSunday's Division 1A clash between Kilkenny and Limerick is the highest profile game to fall victim to the weather amid a spate of postponements in the Allianz Hurling League, with the 1B meeting of Laois and Carlow also called off.
Both games were scheduled to throw in at 1.45pm and 2pm respectively but following heavy rain overnight, the playing surfaces in Kilkenny and Portlaoise were deemed unplayable.
As it stands, there are two fixtures still standing in the Allianz Hurling League across Divsion 1A and 1B, with Clare hosting Wexford in Ennis, with both sides still seeking a first win, while Waterford travel north to play Antrim in Corrigan Park, a game which pitches Davy Fitzgerald against his old side.
The Division 2 game between Meath and Down, fixed for Trim, has also been postponed.
Meanwhile, the Division 3 fixture between Wicklow and Roscommon, which had been due to throw in at 2pm in Aughrim, has now been moved to Bray after the original venue failed a pitch inspection. It will now throw in at the slightly later time of 2.30pm, subject to a pitch inspection at 12.30pm.
The other match in that division - the meeting of Cavan and Armagh at Kingspan Breffni Park - has also been postponed due to an unplayable pitch.
A total of six league games across both codes have been postponed this weekend, with the Division 3 football meeting of Sligo and Antrim, and the south-east derby between Wexford and Wicklow in Division 4 also called off.
