Bill Belichick’s chances at Bills coaching job revealed

Bill Belichick to Buffalo doesn’t appear to be in the cards, according to Pro Football Talk.

The six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach’s name has been mentioned as a potential replacement for the fired Sean McDermott, but the report stated “the Bills are not interested in Bill Belichick.”

This after Buffalo surprised many within the NFL by talking to Philip Rivers, who recently came out of retirement to play again for the Indianapolis Colts after spending the previous five seasons as the head coach at St. Michael Catholic HS in Fairhope, Alabama.

The 73-year-old Belichick, meanwhile, is “currently regarded as radioactive by most NFL teams looking for coaches,’’ according to the report.

That’s in part due to his tumultuous time at North Carolina.

Not only did the Tar Heels finish just 4-8 in Belichick’s first season at Chapel Hill, but he also dealt with several off-field distractions, including the alleged involvement of his 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, in the football program and his personal brand.

His pursuit of the head coaching position of the Falcons a year ago didn’t end with him getting the job, which led to Belichick taking over at UNC.

And in his last four seasons in New England, the Patriots finished under .500 three times —  including his final two years.

So perhaps it’s not too much of a surprise Belichick hasn’t been able to get back in the league.
