Jets can learn Super Bowl 2026 lessons from Patriots, Seahawks turnarounds

The Jets’ Super Bowl drought is now at 57 years and counting.

Another Super Bowl will be played Sunday with the Jets sitting at home and Santa Clara, Calif., feels closer to Florham Park than the Jets do to playing in the big game.

But the two teams playing on Sunday provide some hope and some lessons for the Jets as they try to figure out how to turn around the franchise that has been floundering since 2011. The Patriots and Seahawks were not expected to be playing in the Super Bowl when the season began. The Patriots were coming off a 4-13 season with a new coach in Mike Vrabel and a second-year quarterback in Drake Maye. The Seahawks had just brought in Sam Darnold and Mike Macdonald was entering his second season in charge.

So, how did they do it and what can the Jets take from them?
