Nets get Michael Porter Jr. from Nuggets for Cam Johnson in trade shakeup

· New York Post

The Nets trade that felt inevitable for months finally happened.

Cam Johnson was dealt to the Nuggets on Monday in exchange for Michael Porter Jr. and an unprotected first-round pick in 2032, according to ESPN, giving Denver another scoring option — with Johnson known for his 3-point shooting — alongside Nikola Jokic as it looks to make another postseason run after falling in the second round.

Johnson initially arrived in Brooklyn alongside Mikal Bridges as part of the Kevin Durant trade in 2023, and when the Nets entered into their rebuilding stage, he became one of the most established players left.

Porter Jr., a 27-year-old and former first-round pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, averaged 18.2 points and 7.0 rebounds for Denver last season, and he played a critical role on the team that won the NBA title in 2023.
