Arne Slot has provided injury updates for several Liverpool stars ahead of their journey to Tottenham Hotspur this Saturday evening. The Reds' head coach has been grappling with a string of fitness issues all season long.
He has faced yet another injury worry as doubts emerged over the fitness of star midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai following last weekend's win over Brighton. The Hungarian international has been one of Liverpool's shining lights during a challenging period for the club.
The Reds encounter with Tottenham will also be their first game without Mohamed Salah available for selection. The 33-year-old has broke off for international duty with Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations and isn't expected back until January 2026.

A victory this weekend could propel Liverpool into the Premier League's top four if other results also fall in their favour. After languishing in the lower half of the table for part of the season, such an outcome would be a welcome lift for Slot and the Anfield supporters this Christmas.
Dominik Szoboszlai
There were significant fears within the Liverpool camp after Dominik Szoboszlai was forced off against Brighton with an apparent ankle injury.
At the time, Slot admitted "it didn't look great," but after a week of rest, it appears the 25-year-old could be available for the Spurs game - though his inclusion is not yet guaranteed.
"Szoboszlai trained yesterday, parts, so let's see how he is today," the head coach said on Friday morning.
"It depends how he does today. He can fill the whole session and you speak to the player and staff and feels comfortable then he will start. If not, he doesn't feel comfortable then he won't. He will start if he is totally fit."

Cody Gakpo has missed matches against Inter Milan and Brighton due to a muscle injury after a bright start to the campaign. Having recorded seven goal contributions in the Premier League so far, he has been a mainstay in the starting lineup.
Fortunately for Liverpool, his injury does not appear to be as severe as first feared as Slot left the door open for a return in early January 2026.
"Gakpo, had a scan that looks promising, so we're not that worried anymore that we were a few weeks ago. He will come back early but not tomorrow or next week."

Joe Gomez played just 26 minutes against Brighton before being substituted with a muscle issue. The Englishman had recently started to feature at right-back as Slot searched for solutions to Liverpool's defensive issues.
However, ahead of Spurs Slot clarified: "Gomez is not in the squad," without adding any details of the injury's scale.

Jeremie Frimpong
Jeremie Frimpong has endured a rough start to life in the Premier League. His second injury of the season was to his hamstring, and has kept him sidelined since October.
However, in the wake of Gomez's injury Slot has confirmed: "Jeremie is in the squad again as well," meaning he or Conor Bradley - who was suspended last weekend - will be able to fill the void at right-back against Spurs.

Any hope of Wataru Endo securing more game time before the end of the year has been halted, as the Japanese international has suffered an ankle injury.
Endo has started just two games for Liverpool this season - both in the Carabao Cup. He last featured as a late substitute, playing seven minutes against Leeds United earlier this month.
There was no update on the Japanese national team captain ahead of Spurs, with his absence expected to continue into the new year.

Giovanni Leoni managed less than 90 minutes for Liverpool before suffering a devastating cruciate ligament injury in September.
The teenage defender is set to miss the entirety of his debut season for the Reds, but Slot believes he will come back stronger.
In September, the head coach said: "He is not in a good place because he tore his ACL, which means he will be out around a year.
"Being so young and coming to a new country and playing so well in your first game, it's very hard to take the positives. But you try to look at that, and that is that he is still so young, and he has so many years still to go after he recovers."
