Everything you need to know about Liverpool vs Wolves

  1. Liverpool's clash with Wolves takes place at Anfield on Saturday, December 27. Kick-off is set for 3pm UK time.
  2. The game will not be shown live on TV in UK. This is because the match falls under the traditional 3pm Saturday blackout, which prohibits the live broadcast of any football match to protect stadium attendances.
  3. Since there is no live television coverage, there is also no official live stream available for fans within the UK. However, supporters can follow the action via live audio commentary on the official Liverpool FC app, LFCTV, or on BBC Radio 5 Live.
  4. Despite not being available in the UK, the game will be streamed on NBC Sports in the United States, JioHotstar in India and Stan Sport in Australia.
  5. Fans in the UK won't have to wait long to see the goals, as "bitesize" highlights will be released on the Liverpool FC website and YouTube channel at 7pm tonight. As ever, Match of the Day will also provide comprehensive coverage of the game on BBC One at 10:30pm.
  6. The Reds enter this fixture having rebuilt significant momentum with back-to-back wins against Tottenham and Brighton, helping to temporarily silence critics of Arne Slot. They are currently sixth in the table, having been leapfrogged by Manchester United following their win over Newcastle on Boxing Day.
  7. Three points for Liverpool would see them jump up to fourth in the table, though they will drop down to fifth if Chelsea beat Aston Villa in the late kick-off. A draw would also see them move up to fourth, with Liverpool, United and Chelsea all currently level on 29 points.
  8. Wolves arrive at Anfield rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table with only two points from 17 matches. Their recent form is dire, having lost 10 consecutive league games.
  9. Historically, Liverpool have completely dominated this fixture, winning all of their last five encounters against Wolves. They've also won 13 of the last 15 games between the two sides in a run that stretches back to 2019.
  10. The last time the two sides met back in February, Liverpool secured a 2-1 home victory. Wolves' last win in the fixture came in the form of a shock 3-0 victory in February 2023.
  11. Liverpool will be without several key players for the tie. Mo Salah is away at the AFCON, Alexander Isak is out injured and Dominic Szoboszlai is suspended after picking up a fifth yellow card of the season against Tottenham last weekend.
  12. Diogo Jota's sons will serve as Liverpool mascots for the game. There will be a pre-match ceremony paying tribute to the late footballer, who played for both clubs.
