Josh Allen Sets New Bills Franchise Record During SNF Thriller vs. Ravens
· The Fresno BeeJosh Allen has reached the point in his career, where the record books are in danger nearly every time he steps onto a football field. To cap off an exciting first Sunday of the 2025 NFL season, Allen and the Buffalo Bills hosted Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens.
The two electric quarterbacks have been connected since day one of their NFL careers. They were both drafted in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft. And they have both become the face of their respective franchises. And after completing a wild comeback-win over Jackson and the Ravens during Sunday Night Football's matchup, capturing a Week 1, thrilling home-win 41-40, Allen set a new franchise record in the process.
Josh Allen Breaks Bills Franchise Record on SNF
The moment Allen crossed the goal-line for rushing touchdown No. 66 of his illustrious career, he set a brand new Bills record. Allen passed running back, Thurman Thomas (65 rush TDs) for the most in Bills history, setting a new franchise record.
Allen would add another crucial rushing TD (No. 67) with just under two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.
Allen, who is listed at six-feet, five-inches tall and 237 pounds, has never shied away from contact, entering Sunday night's game with 759 career rushing-attempts.
Allen, also holds a share of the record, along with Jalen Hurts, for the most rushing TDs by a QB in a single season (15). He and Hurts both set that record in 2023.
Allen, 29, is fresh off his first NFL MVP of his seven-year career. He narrowly edged out Jackson in MVP voting last season before also eliminating the Ravens in the Divisional Round of the playoffs.
Allen was instrumental in bringing his team all the way back from a 15-point, fourth-quarter deficit. He finished the 41-40 win with 424 total yards (394 passing and 30 rushing) and four total TDs (two passing and two rushing).
