Aaron Rodgers' Steelers Debut Performance Elevates His Status Among All-Time Greats

Despite being 41 years old, Aaron Rodgers appears to have it still. After spending time with the New York Jets, Aaron Rodgers went back to the Meadowlands on Sunday and helped his Pittsburgh Steelers squad score 41 points in a two-point win.

Rodgers passed for four passing touchdowns, 244 yards, and did not turn the football over in the game. Not only did he pass for four touchdowns, but they all went to different receivers, showing the depth of the Pittsburgh squad.

With the performance, Rodgers elevated his status among the all-time great quarterbacks, as he moved to a third-place tie with Peyton Manning for the third most games with 4+ passing touchdowns in the NFL.

Rodgers is now just two behind Drew Brees for second in NFL history, with Tom Brady two more ahead of him.

Pittsburgh fans were excited to see Rodgers's connection with DK Metcalf. He tossed the ball to the former Seahawks receiver seven times, four of them as receptions, for 83 yards. Metcalf was not one of the four to catch a touchdown pass.

Calvin Austin III, Ben Skowronek, Jaylen Warren, and Johnnu Smith were the four to get into the end zone.

Rodgers was the 24th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. He will be 42 years old in December, and now has 507 touchdown passes. Last season with the Jets, he played 17 games and tossed for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns.

On the other side, Justin Fields was strong for the Jets. He threw it 22 times, completing 16 of them, and threw a touchdown pass to Garrett Wilson. Wilson finished the game with 95 yards receiving, Fields also rushed the ball 12 times for 48 yards, and scored two touchdowns.

The next time Rodgers and the Steelers are in action is Sunday. Their Week 2 opponent is the Seattle Seahawks, at home.
