Former Kildare GAA selector announced as new manager of SFC team
Maynooth GAA last week announced that former Kildare coach under Jack O'Connor, Ross Glavin, will be their new Senior Football Manager
by Daragh Nolan · Leinster LeaderMaynooth GAA last week announced the appointment of Ross Glavin as their new senior football manager for the 2026 season. Glavin formerly managed Moorefield and was also a coach with Kildare under Jack O'Connor, a role he stepped away from early in 2021 due to personal family reasons.
He will tackle Maynooth's season next year alongside a backroom team of Maynooth clubman Karl Ennis and former Carlow footballer Padraig Murphy.
Maynooth squeaked of a difficult winner's group in this year's Championship with a win over Raheens being enough to get them out of Group B alongside Naas and Sarsfields. However, that is where their progression ended as they exited the SFC with a disappointing 2-8 to 0-12 loss to Moorefield in the Preliminary Quarter-Final stage.
Earlier in 2025, Maynooth came up short against Naas in the Hanlon Concrete SFL Division 1 Semi-Final after a league campaign that saw them finish second behind Sarsfields.
