Kildare man Mark Travers has completed a €4.6m transfer from Bournemouth to Everton with the 26 year-old leaving The Cherries after nine years at the club.

The Maynooth man will serve as back-up to first-choice goalkeeper and England no.1 Jordan Pickford. Travers leaves Bournemouth having played a crucial role in their promotion to the Premier League and making 82 overall appearances.

The Kildare man's transfer news has come not long after Bournemouth agreed a deal to sign Chelsea Goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic for £25m.

The Irish international arrives on Merseyside where he’ll join up with fellow country men, Jake O’Brien and club captain Séamus Coleman.
