Tottenham find themselves at a crossroads as Yves Bissouma, the seasoned Mali international, appears increasingly likely to leave following a reported fallout with manager Thomas Frank.
The midfielder is not a part of the new Tottenham manager’s plans for this season and after disagreements with the manager, he wants to leave the club, according to Football Insider.
Bissouma has slipped down the pecking order since Frank took charge of the club and replacement Ange Postecoglou.
The introduction of Joao Palhinha, who has made an immediate impact, has further marginalised the midfielder.
Yves Bissouma has no future at Tottenham
Importantly, Bissouma was excluded from the squad for the UEFA Super Cup clash with PSG, a decision tied to unprofessional conduct, as the report mentions repeated instances of the player arriving late to training.
The controversy continued as Bissouma was again excluded from Spurs’ 25-man squad for the Champions League group stage.
These incidents seem to have eroded Frank’s trust, prompting a growing recognition within the club that offloading him may be best for all parties.
While Premier League moves were considered before, this window’s deadline passed without any major developments. However, the transfer markets in Saudi Arabia and the Turkish Süper Lig remain open, and multiple outlets report that clubs from both regions are monitoring Bissouma’s situation.
Spurs are ready to offload Bissouma
Tottenham might capitalise on this, choosing to cash in rather than risk losing him for free when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Bissouma might seek a fresh start where his talents are appreciated, and where discipline concerns are better managed.
It is best for all the parties to part ways and go in separate directions since it is clear that the manager has other preferences.
