Lauryn Goodman has spoken candidly about the emotional impact of her son Kairo's absence from his father, Kyle Walker. In an exclusive interview and photoshoot with the Mirror at her home, the 34 year old mother of two shared her experiences of discussing Kairo's father with him.

Lauryn and Kyle have two children, four year old Kairo and one year old Kinara, born after an affair. Kyle, who is married to Annie Kilner and has four sons with her, has had no contact with Lauryn's children for a year. This weekend, he is set to play his first match for AC Milan after transferring from Manchester City.

Lauryn revealed that she is navigating a challenging stage of honesty with her children, having previously used the excuse that Kyle was away playing football to explain his absence. However, Kairo recently discovered the truth after a conversation with another child, leading Lauryn to seek professional advice on how to handle the situation.

She recalled, "I'm in that transition stage at the moment where we haven't fully crossed over to 'the truth.'" For the past year, Lauryn told Kairo his father was away playing or training. But one day, Kairo started crying for his father, getting angry and saying, 'He's not at football; he's not playing today, reports the Mirror.

Lauryn said, "I asked him how he knew and he said another child had told him that Man City weren't playing that day. And I realised we couldn't keep on going like that. So I have spoken to therapists and professionals about it."

Lauryn opened up about the solidity of her support network amid personal challenges. Post-affair, finding it difficult to trust others due to her vulnerability, Lauryn sadly shared, "When it comes to a support network, it's my mum, my nan and grandad that I'm close to the most," as she also faces estrangement from her sister Chloe, a reality TV star who confessed to having "no sympathy" for Lauryn's plight.

Reflecting on her friendships, she disclosed, "I have a very, very small circle of friends now because when this all started happening, most of them left as they didn't want to be seen to be associated with me because of the public backlash or they were being disloyal. And now, because of the kids, I don't want to let many people in."

Yet, despite hardships, Lauryn remains dedicated to her role as a mother: "Everything I do is for my kids," she stated. "They are innocent and I am here, day in, day out, caring for them, making sure that they are looked after, making sure they're loved, making sure that they're not affected."
