Aston Villa can sign striker linked with Newcastle United for €15m after transfer development

by · Birmingham Live

Aston Villa can sign Turkish striker and reported Newcastle United target Semih Kilicsoy for just €15m this summer - as Besiktas close in on former loanee Tammy Abraham. Reports in Turkiye claim that Villa have opened talks with Besiktas about a move for the teenager, who is free to leave once the Super Lig side have secured the move for Abraham from AS Roma.

Villa have been active in adding young European talent to their squad in recent windows; although Kosta Nedeljkovic was loaned out shortly after arriving - and could yet leave the club permanently this summer - while they've also been in Turkiye in 2025 to complete the signing of defender Yasin Ozcan from Kasimpasa.

They've also snared Andres Garcia from Levante in January and have, this summer, confirmed the arrival of Zepiqueno Redmond following the expiry of his contract at Dutch side Feyenoord, but Fanatik claims that there is the opportunity presented to them to explore a deal for Kilicsoy.

Villa will be after a striker this summer; having returned loanee Marcus Rashford to Manchester United, they are still without a long-term successor to Jhon Duran who they sold to Al-Nassr - but who, like Abraham, could reportedly find himself in Turkiye this summer - back in the January transfer window.

There are also doubts over the future of Ollie Watkins; it's another summer, another series of speculation regarding Villa's top goalscorer of the Premier League, who has spent the last five seasons at Villa Park but who supposedly has interest from boyhood club Arsenal and Manchester United - if, in the case of the latter, they sell Rasmus Hojlund this summer.

Kilicsoy, rated at €12m by Transfermarkt, has produced 16 goals and nine assists in 85 appearances for Besiktas' first-team. He has three years remaining on his current contract with the club.
