Solomons: What Chiefs need to do to keep up with Downs, Pirates

Kaizer Chiefs defender Dillan Solomons has revealed what Chiefs need to focus on in order to keep them in the chasing pack alongside rivals Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

Amakhosi currently find themselves sitting third on the Betway Premiership table and, crucially, remain undefeated just like Sundowns and Pirates in what has turned out to be an explosive opening to the league campaign.

With the traditional 'Big Three' all firing on all cylinders and showing immense form this season, Solomons explained that the margin for error has completely vanished, stressing that even the slightest misstep by any side could prove catastrophic to their title aspirations.

Speaking directly to the club's media, the defender admitted that Amakhosi actively monitor their competitors, noting that they watch every single game played by the other two standard-bearers.

"Obviously, you watch every game when it comes to the other two teams. For us, it’s [important] to stay on course, and [continue] doing what we need to do and know our way," Solomons said.

"Obviously, we want to achieve things with the club, and that’s what we’ve got to do. We can’t be just focussing on what other clubs are doing.

"We are all going to have a tight schedule coming close to the end of the year, but for us, we have to stay on course and focus on what we can control, which is our games."
