It was a frustrating evening for the seven-time African champions, who squandered numerous chances in front of goal before they were bailed out by Omar Marmoush and Mohamed Salah.
while the finishing was not on point against Zimbabwe, former Zamalek star Khaled El-Ghandour feels there should be a change in the goalkeeper department.
"In my opinion, Mostafa Shobeir must play the next match," El-Ghandour said on social media, as per Ysscores.
Meanwhile, 1998 Africa Cup of Nations winner Hazem Emam has urged Hosssam to go with an defensive midfielder against stronger opponents.
“Against strong teams, we must play with defensive midfielders to close down the midfield and prevent direct shots. Hossam Hassan’s reading of the game is commendable," he said via ON Sport.
"We faced a weak opponent offensively, and he relied on offensive pressure to reduce the danger, but he considered this solution suitable for this match only and not a model that can be repeated.
