Paul Warne responds as Louie Barry to Derby County transfer links continue
by Leigh Curtis · Derbyshire LivePaul Warne understands why he is being linked with a move for Aston Villa's Louie Barry but Derby County's head coach says he will not talk about another club's player.
Derby have been linked with a loan move for the exciting winger who has been recalled by the Premier League club after an excellent loan spell with Stockport County.
Barry scored 16 goals in all competitions for the Hatters who are currently vying for promotion to the Championship under Dave Challinor. But nearly every club in the Championship has been linked with the 21-year-old with Millwall said to be the latest club to express an interest.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow's FA Cup clash with Leyton Orient, Derby head coach Warne said: "My honest answer is that I never speak about players at other clubs.
"I saw a manager talk about a player he put an offer in for the other day and it was so open. I will never do that, but as everyone knows I am looking for players across the top line.
"Any winger or any attacking player or number 10, I would be linked to - that is fact. I reckon if I typed in Louie Barry's name, I reckon there are more than Derby County being linked to him.
"You'd be surprised to know that sometimes agents do it. I got told last night that Leeds were linked to him. Whether that is true who knows? I doubt Daniel Farke has rung somebody up and told someone, same with Villa. People put one and one together and of course I understand it.
"I like players who can go past people and create chances and score goals. The fact that we are linked with these sort of players I understand, but I won't comment if I am."
