Paul Warne's big call and unlocking Marcus Harness - Derby County v Norwich predicted XI

Latest Derby County news from DerbyshireLive looks at the team that Warne could pick to face the Canaries

by · Derbyshire Live

Callum Elder's injury has given Derby County head coach Paul Warne one major decision to make when they face Norwich City at Pride Park tomorrow (12.30pm).

Elder is out until the international break after picking up a groin injury in the 1-0 defeat to Sheffield United last weekend.

Craig Forsyth would be a natural replacement but his lack of minutes might come into Warne's thinking when it comes to naming the team.

He could move Ben Osborn into a left-back spot that would at least give him the option of deploying Marcus Harness in an attacking role with the on-loan Ipswich attacker capable of playing as number 10.

That's the only big call Warne has to make with Derby set to be without David Ozoh, Jake Rooney and Liam Thompson along with Elder.

Here Derby County writer Leigh Curtis picks his starting XI to face the Canaries and we want your team selection for the clash against the Canaries which is being televised live on Sky Sports.

Jacob Widell Zetterstrom - GK

Been outstanding since arriving at Derby and has firmly established himself as the club's number one. Has an impressive record at Pride Park and one he will be looking to protect.

Ryan Nyambe - RB

The best one v one defender in the squad and a bonafide Championship defender. Pretty much undroppable and has been a fantastic signing on a free transfer.

Curtis Nelson - CB

Warne could feel tempted to start Nat Phillips after a late switch to a back three at Sheffield United. But Warne will probably stick with a back four and you suspect that Nelson stays at centre-back.(Image: Paul Currie/REX/Shutterstock)

Eiran Cashin - CB

The best passer in the heart of the back four and with Derby increasingly playing out from the back, you need him to play because he is calm in possession especially when he hits the diagonal pass to the wingers.

Ben Osborn - LB

The biggest call Paul Warne has to make here is whether to play Craig Forsyth who has not had many minutes or plump for Osborn who can play there. The summer signing may be switched position from midfield to left-back.(Image: Paul Currie)
